In acronyms, BCM, in the Painean calendar (Paine, 1802AD) notation system, stands for “before Christ myth”, as compared to ACM, or "after Christ myth"; which can be compared to the BCE/CE scheme employed commonly in secular works.

In 1802, Thomas Paine originated the BCM/ACM dating notation system, when he began to date his letters of communication, referring to 0AD specifically as a “mythical” date.

In 2018, Libb Thims began to employ the ACM/BCM dating system notation, as opposed to the vulgar BCM/CE scheme, in some Hmolpedia articles.
